23 June 2011 -18th annual Pushkin Festival held in Ashkelon




23 June - The XVIII annual Pushkin Festival was held at the "Yad le-Banim" concert hall in Ashkelon .
This year, the motive of the holiday "My Pushkin" co-incited with the 75th birthday of the writer, literary critic and historian Leonid Finkel, a graduate of the Literary Institute AM Gorky, the initiator and organizer of these permanent activities .

The artistic director of this festival, Honored Artist of Russia, Mikhail Parkhomovskii, who was moderating the evening, introduced L. Finkel and congratulated him on his 75th birthday.

Then, referring to the theme "My Pushkin" , L. Finkel also spoke about his creative destiny which is inextricably linked with the study and promotion of this great Russian poet's heritage.

The guests and participants of the evening welcomed the Deputy Mayor of Ashkelon Sofa Beilin, who asked all to dive further into AS Pushkin's magical world of creativity.

The Head of Russian Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel, Alexander Kryukov, welcomed the participants on behalf of the Russian Ambassador to Israel, PV Stegny and expressed his gratitude to L. Finkel for his long-term selfless work in the field of Pushkin studies and promotion of the creative genius of Russian literature in Israel.

On behalf of the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, Kryukov congratulated the hero of the day and presented a number of known and new Russian publications on the life and work of A. Pushkin to L. Finkel.
In turn, L. Finkel has donated a copy made by the Ashkelon city literary association of a bas-relief image of Marina Tsvetaeva, to the Russian Cultural Center , the bronze original had previously been sent to the house-museum of the poet in Yelabuga.

In a warm and friendly manner the jubilee congratulated the famous writer and dramatist Alexander Kanevsky, who had composed the praise "the Word of Finkel," based on the popular Pushkin's poetry.

A big celebration of literary and musical concert followed, during which well-known Israeli musicians and singers performed.
The participants were pleased with the excellent performance of musicians from the world-famous Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta.

23 июня в концертном зале «Яд ле-баним» Ашкелона состоялся уже XVIII ежегодный Пушкинский фестиваль. В этом году мотивом праздника «Мой Пушкин» стало и 75-летие инициатора и бессменного организатора этих мероприятий, писателя, литературоведа и историка Леонида Финкеля, выпускника Литературного института им. А.М. Горького.

Ведущий вечера, художественный руководитель нынешнего Фестиваля, Заслуженный артист России Михаил Пархомовский, тепло представил Л. Финкеля и поздравил его с 75-летием. Затем с художественным словом «Мой Пушкин» выступил Л. Финкель, также рассказавший о своей творческой судьбе, неразрывно связанной с изучением и популяризацией наследия великого русского поэта.

Затем гостей и участников вечера приветствовала вице-мэр Ашкелона Софа Бейлин, пожелавшая всем еще большего погружения в волшебный мир творчества А.С. Пушкина.

Руководитель представительства Россотрудничества в Израиле Александр Крюков от имени Посла России в Израиле П.В. Стегния приветствовал собравшихся и выразил благодарность Л. Финкелю за многолетний подвижнический труд на поприще пушкиноведения и популяризации творчества гения русской словесности в Израиле. От имени Российского культурного центра в Тель-Авиве А. Крюков поздравил юбиляра и передал в дар Л. Финкелю ряд уже известных и новых российских изданий о жизни и творчестве А.С. Пушкина.

В свою очередь, Л. Финкель передал в дар РКЦ копию изготовленного ашкелонским городским литературным объединением барельефа с изображением Марины Цветаевой, бронзовый оригинал которого ранее был отправлен в Дом-музей поэтессы в Елабуге.

В тёплой дружеской манере юбиляра поздравил известный писатель и драматург Александр Каневский, сочинивший похвальное «Слово о Финкеле» по мотивам популярных пушкинских стихов.

Далее состоялся большой праздничный литературно-музыкальный концерт, в ходе которого выступили известные израильские музыканты и певцы. Собравшихся порадовали своим мастерством артисты всемирно известного Израильского филармонического оркестра под управлением маэстро Зубина Меты.
