24 May 2011 - Heroes of the Cosmos at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv




May 24 2011, the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv hosted a reception in honor of Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, M. Kornienko, and American astronaut Mr. Reisman, who arrived in Israel to participate in events commemorating the 50th anniversary of space flight of Yuri Gagarin and the Year of Space in Russia.

The evening was organized by the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel together with the Israeli educational organization "Limmud - FSU" as part of the festival, "Science, Technology, Space," which will be held at the Ben-Gurion University (Beer Sheva).

The introduction was conducted in Russian and Hebrew by the Head of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel,Alexander Kryukov and the popular television reporter from channel 9 "Israel Plus" Elena Lagutin.

They welcomed the distinguished guests, briefly spoke about the history and the high achievements of the USSR and Russia in space exploration, as well as an international educational program by the FA Rossotrudnichestvo "Space Odyssey" and the project "Limmud - FSU".

The welcoming speeches were made by Russia's ambassador to Israel, PA Stegny, Minister of Immigrant Absorption C. Landwehr, Chairman of the International Council 'Limmud - FSU "M. Bronfman (Canada), the creator of" Limmud "Chaim Chesler and other distinguished guests.

Twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major-General Alexei Leonov shared his memories of the legendary Soviet cosmonaut, first man in space, Yuri Gagarin.

Hero of Russia, Mikhail Kornienko and U.S. astronaut Garrett Reisman, emphasized in their speeches the importance of international cooperation in space.

Ilan Ramon's widow Rona shared memories of the Israeli astronaut. Those present paid tribute to Yuri Gagarin, I. Ramon and the other fallen space heroes with a minute of silence.

Then the president of the Union of disabled soldiers and partisans from the war against the Nazis, Gen. R. Yagel presented the cosmonauts/astronauts with commemorative medals "65 Years of Victory over Nazi Germany."

In memory of this unforgettable meeting, the head of the Jewish World Cultural Center for immigrants from Central Asia, Dr. M. Kimyagarov presented gifts to the Conquerors of Space.

The reception was attended by ambassadors and senior diplomats of the CIS/FSU countries in Israel and the U.S. Embassy representative Charles Schwartz.

The special evening was also attended by Israeli government and public figures - members of the Knesset Abesadze N. and Miller, deputy chairman of the Second World War Veterans Union of the Fighters against Nazism, Rabovsky E., editor in chief of the radio rack M. Gilboa, actress "Gesher" H . Manor, writer M. Galesnik and many others.

The concert program of the evening was provided by the brilliant jazz pianist-improviser Leonid Birdie and well-known singer Olga Umansky.

A photo exhibition, a slide-show and exhibition of children's drawings on the Year of space in Russia was presented to the attending public.
The reception was covered by numerous representatives of the Israeli media.

Герои космоса - в Российском культурном центре в Тель-Авиве

 

24 мая в Российском культурном центре в Тель-Авиве состоялся торжественный приём в честь российских космонавтов А. Леонова, М. Корниенко и американского астронавта Г. Рейсмана, прибывших в Израиль для участия в мероприятиях, посвящённых 50-летию космического полёта Ю. Гагарина и Году космоса в России.

Вечер был организован представительством Россотрудничества в Израиле совместно с израильской просветительской организацией «Лимуд - СНГ» в рамках фестиваля «Наука, технология, космос», который состоится в Университете им. Бен-Гуриона (Беэр-Шева).

Приём вели на русском языке и иврите руководитель представительства Россотрудничества Александр Крюков и популярная журналистка телеканала «Израиль плюс» Елена Лагутина. Они приветствовали высоких гостей, коротко рассказали об истории и высоких достижениях СССР и России в области освоения космоса, а также о международной образовательной программе ФА Россотрудничества «Космическая одиссея» и о проекте «Лимуд - СНГ».

С приветственными речами выступили Посол России в Израиле П. Стегний, министр абсорбции Израиля С. Ландвер, председатель международного совета «Лимуд - СНГ» М. Бронфман (Канада), создатель «Лимуда» Хаим Чеслер и другие почётные гости.

Своими воспоминаниями о Юрии Гагарине поделился легендарный лётчик-космонавт СССР, первый человек в открытом космосе, дважды Герой Советского Союза,  генерал-майор Алексей Леонов. Затем выступили Герой России Михаил Корниенко и американский астронавт Гаррет Рейсман, подчеркнувшие в своих выступлениях важную роль международного сотрудничества в космосе. 

Своими воспоминаниями о погибшем израильском космонавте Илане Рамоне поделилась его вдова Рона Рамон. Присутствующие почтили память Ю. Гагарина, И. Рамона и других погибших героев космоса минутой молчания.

Затем президент Союза воинов и партизан – инвалидов войны с нацистами генерал Р. Ягель вручил космонавтам юбилейные медали «65 лет Победы над нацистской Германией». В память о незабываемой встрече руководитель Всемирного культурного центра евреев – выходцев из Центральной Азии д-р М. Кимягаров преподнёс покорителям космоса ценные подарки.

На приёме присутствовали послы и старшие дипломаты стран СНГ в Израиле, а также представитель Посольства США Ч. Шварц.

В вечере также приняли участие израильские государственные и общественные деятели – депутаты Кнессета Н. Абесадзе и А. Миллер, заместитель председателя Союза ветеранов Второй мировой войны – борцов с нацизмом Е. Рабовский, главный редактор радио РЭКА М. Гильбоа, актриса театра «Гешер» Н. Манор, писатель М. Галесник и многие другие.

В концертной программе вечера выступили блестящий джазовый пианист-импровизатор Леонид Пташка и известная певица Ольга Уманская.

Вниманию публики были представлены фотовыставка, слайд-шоу и выставка детского рисунка, посвящённые Году космоса в России.   

Приём освещали многочисленные представители израильских СМИ.
