6 July 2010, Haifa Veterans inaugurated an exhibition of photographs about the heroism of Leningrad which endured a 900-day siege(1941-1944).

In the ongoing series of festivals in Israel and public memorial events dedicated to the 65-th anniversary of the Victory, on July 6 in Haifa was Speakers distinguished guests, among whom were the Consul General of Russia in Haifa, Igor Popov, Consul General of Ukraine in Haifa Igor Turchin, MK Robert Tivyaev, chairman of the Coordinating Council of immigrants from the Soviet Union - CIS in Israel, Michael Reif, and others, noted the continued importance of heroic Leningrad and Soviet soldiers who defended the city on the Neva, in the common cause of victory, as well as the need to preserve the memory of those tragic and heroic days.

This was followed by an award ceremony for blokadniks now living in Haifa who were presented with commemorative medals presented on behalf of the Government of St. Petersburg.

The evening was attended by a specialist Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel, Denis Parkhomchuk.
