29 April 2010 - Solemn opening of an exhibition of works of artists and photo artists from the former Soviet Union and CIS countries living in Israelat the exhibition Hall of the Artists' Club in Rishon Le Zion - the largest satellite town of Tel-Aviv.

Opening the exhibition, Vice Mayor Vadim Kirpichev representative welcomed the participants of the exhibition, where works by 24 artists are shown, and pledge City Hall's full support of artistic and cultural life in the city, the tone of which was rightly set with confidence over the last decade by new Israelis - immigrants from the Soviet Union and CIS countries.

The next speaker, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel, Alexander Kryukov appreciated the activities of Rishon Lezion municipality to support the creativity of artists living in the city.

The Director of the RCC also noted that despite the wide geographical range of cities, from which the Rishon artists had arrived - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, Donetsk, Simferopol, Tashkent, - all of them display high artistic taste and great creativity.

This is an manifestation of the the classical art education that the artists had received in the USSR, and their commitment to the best principles and traditions of the Russian academic school of painting.

Kryukov offered to hold a comprehensive cultural "Rishon Le Zion week" at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv in the coming months.

The proposal was enthusiastically accepted by the artists, as well as the representatives of the City Hall.
