11 April 2010, One of the projects of the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, continuing the series of activities carried out in the French Year in Russia , was the exhibition "Russia has returned to me faith in myself ..." dedicated to 170th anniversary of the great French writer Emile Zola.

The title of the exhibition in the library of RCCs are derived from the writer's own words: "In the terrible days of poverty and despair, Russia restored my faith in myself, my whole force, leaving the stage and the audience, most educated, most responsive audience."

The collection includes materials about Russia's role in the creative formation Zola, as well as active participation in his destiny, IS Turgenev, on whose advice the writer became a member of the Russian journal Vestnik Evropy.
"No publication has agreed to publish me, I'm dying of hunger in me to throw dirt on all sides, and here at this time Turgenev brought me to this great Russia, where then I was so loved" - Zola recalled later.

The exhibit also includes the collected works of Zola, representing its literary heritage, as well as correspondence with the novelist Flaubert, Turgenev, Maupassant, France, Daudet, with whom Zola was associated personally and maintained creative relationships.
The exhibition is complemented by illustrations to works of the writer and reproductions of paintings by French artists Cezanne and P. E. Manet, with whom Zola was linked in personal friendship.

Great interest to the Israelis is historical documentary of the exhibition devoted to the famous Dreyfus case and the civil heroism of Emile Zola, who defended the innocent convicted.

Visitors also have the opportunity to learn about Internet resources available, concerning the life and work of the writer.
