Vice-Major of Saint Petersburg in Tel Aviv

 

On November 20, 2008 a meeting took place in the Russian cultural center between the Vice-Major of Saint Petersburg A. Manilov and the leaders and activists of the Israeli unions of Second World War Veterans and associations of blokadnikovs of Leningrad.

 

Presenting to the gathering of leader and members of the delegation of city in the Neva, the RKC RCC Director Dr Alexander Kryukov recalled the May visit of the Major of Saint Petersburg ,Mrs Matvienko, who also met with the descendants from the USSR- CIS in in a reception at the RKC -RCC.

 

The regular visits to Israel of the representative delegations of the second Russian capital testify about the attention of Russians to the life of their compatriots in the State of Israel.

Vice-Major Manilov described the large-scale preparation of the city administration  and inhabitants of Saint Petersburg for the significant historical event, the 65th anniversary of the complete removal of the blockade of Leningrad, which will be noted on January 27, 2009.

The Vice-Major extended an invitation to visit Saint Petersburg for the participation in the celebration of this significant date to the united delegation of the veterans of World War II, who were battling at the Leningrad Front, and blokadnikovs, which now live in Israel.

The city administration is ready to help the compatriots now living in Israel as well as other numerous delegations from the countries of Russian diaspora to arrive in Saint Petersburg and to participate in the celebrations.

 

The Vice-Major answered numerous questions of former Leningrad residents with regards to the contemporary life in the northern capital of Russia, and described the social and economic programs in support of the veterans of World War II and blokadnikovs.

 

At the  conclusion of the visit, Vice-Major Manilov presented an extensive collection of new books and albums on the history and the cultural life of Leningrad - Saint Petersburg, as a gift for the RKC – RCC library.

 

The visit was covered extensively by the various Russian and Israeli printed and electronic media outlets.

 

 

 

 

Вице-губернатор Санкт-Петербурга в Тель-Авиве

 

          20 ноября в Российском культурном центре состоялась встреча вице-губернатора Санкт-Петербурга Аллы Маниловой с руководителями и активистами израильских союзов ветеранов Второй мировой войны и объединения блокадников Ленинграда.    

          Представляя собравшимся руководителя и членов делегации города на Неве, директор РКЦ А.А. Крюков напомнил о прошедшем в мае с.г. визите в Израиль губернатора Санкт-Петербурга В.И. Матвиенко, также встречавшейся с выходцами из СССР-СНГ в РКЦ. Регулярные визиты в Израиль представительных делегаций второй российской столицы свидетельствуют о внимании россиян к жизни своих соотечественников в Государстве Израиль.

          А.Ю. Манилова рассказала собравшимся о широкомасштабной подготовке администрации города и жителей Санкт-Петербурга к значительному историческому событию – 65-летию полного снятия блокады Ленинграда, которое будет отмечаться 27 января 2009 г. Вице-губернатор пригласила в Санкт-Петербург для участия в праздновании этой знаменательной даты объединенную делегацию ветеранов Великой Отечественной войны, сражавшихся на Ленинградском фронте, и блокадников, живущих ныне в Израиле. Администрация города, заверила г-жа Манилова, готова помочь живущим в Израиле соотечественникам, как и другим многочисленным делегациям из стран российской диаспоры приехать в Санкт-Петербург и в полном масштабе принять участие в торжествах.  

          Вице-губернатор ответила на многочисленные вопросы бывших ленинградцев о современной жизни северной столицы России, рассказала о социально-экономических программах поддержки ветеранов Великой Отечественной войны и блокадников. В заключение встречи г-жа Манилова передала в дар библиотеке РКЦ обширный набор новых книг и альбомов по истории и культурной жизни Ленинграда - Санкт-Петербурга.
