April 26,2011 - A scientific and historic conference on the 65th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials - the International Criminal Tribunal on former leaders of Nazi Germany, was held.
The forum was organized by the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel together with the Russian Embassy and the Veterans Union of World War II - the fighters against Nazism. Opening the conference, the head of Mission Alexander Kryukov said particular importance to the international tribunal and the verdict of the Nazi war criminals was the exposing of the Nazi hate ideology, which adherents of the world brought great suffering, had cost countless human lives,and gave rise to the Holocaust. Chairman of the Veterans Union of the Second World War, Abram Grinzayd thanked the Russian Embassy and the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel for their comprehensive assistance and stressed the fact that the conference is taking place in the Russian Cultural Center on the eve of Victory Day. The screen showed excerpts from a documentary film about the Nuremberg trials, which was funded by the RCC. David Zelva, Director of the Military-Historical Museum "The energy of courage" (Hadera), presented unique original documents from the Nuremberg trials that have been stored by the families of members of the Soviet delegation, some of whom now live in Israel. The Cultural Attache of the Embassy of Russia, Anton Chermensky spoke about the trial and some little known interesting facts and quoted statements from the Chief Prosecutors of the victorious countries. The Representative in Israel of the Russian Educational Center "Holocaust", Gregory Reichman gave a presentation on the role of the Nuremberg trials in the formation of an evidence base to expose the Nazis, the genocide of the Jewish people, and also introduced thematic publications. The conference was attended by members of the Russian Embassy, military attaches, leaders and activists of the of the regional offices of the veterans union , historians and journalists. |
