June 9 2011 - Russian north and Jewish Shtetl in Tel Aviv
at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, the grand opening of new art exhibitions - "Mein shtetele" - sculptures and bas-reliefs of famous master Leon Segal (Netanya), as well as the exposition of the Russian photographer Gennady Smirnov (Moscow), "Russian North".

Opening the exhibition, the Head of the Russian FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel, Alexander Kryukov introduced the participants in the evening and talked about the preparation of these two unique exhibitions - Russia and Israel.

A native of Belaya Tserkov (White Church), now an honorary citizen of Netanya, L. Segal devoted his exhibition theme to the Jewish Shtetl and prominent figures of the Jewish people.

His metal works reflected the original characters and scenes of everyday life in a small Jewish town.

As a creative master of surprise Smirnov played a few well-known Russian romances and songs.
His photo exhibition "Russian North", which introduces the viewers to the unique nature and amazing temple architecture north of European Russia, in particular the Solovki archipelago,which is one of the cultural and educational projects by the Russian public organization "Smirnov of Russia", which combines namesakes across the country.

Chairman of the organization, Nikolai Smirnov, told about the history, goals and current projects of the association.
Smirnov today - the most common surname in Russia (about 2.4 million people). It is interesting that in Israel there are about 900 Smirnov.
Author Gennady Smirnov's photographic exposure spoke about his acquaintance with the Russian North and the work in the exhibition.

All photographic masters received generous gifts from the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv and their works will soon be shown in various cities in Israel.

Русский Север и еврейское местечко – в Тель-Авиве

 

9 июня в Российском культурном центре в Тель-Авиве состоялось торжественное открытие новых художественных выставок – «Майн штетеле» – скульптуры и барельефы известного мастера Льва Сегала (Нетания), а также экспозиции работ российского фотохудожника Геннадия Смирнова (Москва) «Русский Север».

Открывая вернисаж, руководитель представительства Россотрудничества в Израиле Александр Крюков представил участников вечера и рассказал о подготовке двух уникальных экспозиций – российской и израильской.

Уроженец г. Белая Церковь, а ныне почётный гражданин Нетании, Л. Сегал посвятил свою выставку теме еврейского местечка и выдающимся деятелям еврейского народа. В его работах из металла отражены самобытные персонажи и житейские сценки маленького еврейского городка. В качестве творческого сюрприза мастер исполнил несколько известных российских романсов и песен.

Фотовыставка «Русский Север», знакомящая зрителей с уникальной природой и удивительной храмовой архитектурой севера европейской части России, в частности Соловецкого архипелага, является одним из культурно-просветительских проектов Общероссийской общественной организации «Смирновы России», которая объединяет однофамильцев по всей стране. Председатель организации Николай Смирнов рассказал об истории создания, целях и текущих проектах своего объединения. Смирновы сегодня – самая распространённая фамилия в России (ок. 2.4 млн. человек). Интересно, что и в Израиле проживает около 900 Смирновых.

Автор экспозиции фотохудожник Геннадий Смирнов рассказал о своём знакомстве с российским севером и работе над выставкой. Все фотоработы мастера были бескорыстно переданы в дар Российскому культурному центру в Тель-Авиве и в ближайшее время будут показаны в различных городах Израиля.
