26 and 27 May 2011 - the Intl Delegation which also includes 2 Russian Cosmonauts
and NASA Astronaut G.Reisman visit the South of Israel


26 and 27 May in the south of Israel the activities continue with the participation of the Cosmonauts on the Russian program "Space Odyssey", organized by the FA Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Israel, in line with the Year of the cosmos.

Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, Hero of Russia, cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko and NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman visited the museum of the Israeli Air Force in Hatzerim where a detailed tour had been organized for them by the museum's Director, former Mayor of Be'er Sheva, retired General Yaakov Turner.

The cosmonauts/astronaut also visited the location of one of the most elite units in the Israeli Air Force, the 106th Tactical Squadron, whose commander conducted a tour for the guests of honour.

In Beersheva the dignitaries met with the Mayor Rubik Danilovich, Vice-Mayor Yigael Ovshievich, as well as Ministers Yuli Edelstein and Yossi Peled.

The delegation visit was organized by the Center for the Study of physics and astronomy to young people, bearing the name of the first Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, at the Ben-Gurion University in the Negev.

At the festival held by the youth education project, "Limmud - FSU",Cosmonaut Leonov gave a lecture on the achievements of Soviet and Russian space programs, showing a video he had made in space, and answered numerous questions from the audience.
Cosmonaut Kornienko and Astronaut H. Reisman spoke about their joint three-month stay aboard the International Space Station.




Международная делегация космонавтов посетила юг Израиля


26 и 27 мая на юге Израиля продолжились мероприятия с участием космонавтов по российской программе «Космическая одиссея», проводимой представительством ФА Россотрудничество в русле Года космоса.
Дважды Герой Советского Союза, лётчик-космонавт Алексей Леонов, Герой России, лётчик-космонавт Михаил Корниенко и астронавт НАСА Гаррет Рейсман посетили музей ВВС Израиля в городе Хацерим, где подробную экскурсию провёл для них директор музея, бывший мэр Беэр-Шевы, генерал в отставке Яаков Тернер.
Затем космонавты побывали в расположении одной из самых элитных в ВВС Израиля 106-й боевой эскадрильи, экскурсию по которой провёл её командир.
В Беэр-Шеве почетные гости встретились с мэром города Рубиком Даниловичем, вице-мэром Игалем Овшиевичем, а также министрами Юлием Эдельштейном и Йоси Пеледом.
Для делегации была организована ознакомительная поездка в Центр изучения физики и астрономии для молодёжи, носящий имя первого израильского астронавта Илана Рамона, при Университете им. Бен-Гуриона.
На проходившем в городе фестивале молодёжного образовательного проекта «Лимуд – СНГ» А. Леонов выступил с лекцией о достижениях советской и российской космических программ, продемонстрировал видеозаписи, сделанные им в космосе, а также ответил на многочисленные вопросы аудитории. М. Корниенко и Г. Рейсман рассказали о своём совместном трехмесячном пребывании на Международной космической станции.
