The heroism of Leningrad remembered in Israel
at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv

A memorial and artistic evening dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the complete lifting of the Nazi siege of Leningrad (Jan. 27, 1944) was held at the RCC in Tel Aviv.

In the foyer of the RCC materials and photographs about the siege of Leningrad were exhibited.

The RCC staff met with members of the Union of the Leningrad blockaders in Israel who came from different cities in the country, representatives of a younger generation of Israelis - natives of St. Petersburg, as well as activists of the newly established Russian-speaking youth association "Yadarim".
Especially for this memorial evening, a painting and written explanation of the blockade were presented by the head of the Union of Professional Artists of Israel, a native of Leningrad, Emil Vulfin.

Opening the meeting,the Head of the Representation of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel, Alexander Kryukov, warmly welcomed the participants and noted that the resilience and the heroism of the past 872 days of blockade by residents of the city on the Neva River became a striking example to the world of the courage of the Soviet people of different nationalities who fought for their country.

Chairman of the Union of the Leningrad blockaders in Israel, Sonia Barulya (Jerusalem) said that in 2011, the 70 ties anniversary of the beginning of the blockade will be marked.
By this date, the national memorial and research center "Yad Vashem " is planning to open a memorial plaque dedicated to the victims of those tragic and heroic events.

Memories were shared amongst those survivors from Leningrad blockade who live now in Israel and representatives of the generation of their children.

The choral group "Menorah" (city of Petah Tikva) provided the artistic part of the evening.

During the concert all musical works of the war years, the songs of Leningrad and classical arias were presented.

В Израиле помнят о подвиге Ленинграда

 

31 января в Российском культурном центре в Тель-Авиве состоялся мемориально-художественный вечер, посвященный 67-й годовщине полного снятия немецко-фашистской блокады Ленинграда (27 января 1944 г.).

В оформленном материалами о блокаде и фотографиями Ленинграда фойе РКЦ собрались члены Союза ленинградских блокадников Израиля, приехавшие из разных городов страны, представители более молодого поколения израильтян - выходцев из Санкт-Петербурга, а также активисты недавно созданного русскоязычного молодёжного объединения «Ядарим». Специально для мемориального вечера картину, написанную  по мотивам блокады, представил руководитель Союза профессиональных художников Израиля, выходец из Ленинграда Эмиль Вульфин.

Открывая встречу, руководитель представительства Россотрудничества в Израиле Александр Крюков тепло приветствовал собравшихся и отметил, что стойкость и героизм прошедших через 872 дня блокады жителей города на Неве стал для всего мира поразительным примером мужества советских людей разных национальностей, сражавшихся за свою Родину.

Председатель Союза ленинградских блокадников Израиля Соня Баруля (Иерусалим) рассказала о том, что в 2011 году будет  отмечаться 70-летие с момента начала блокады. К этой дате в национальном мемориально-исследовательском комплексе «Яд ва-шем» планируется открытие памятной доски, посвященной жертвам тех трагических и героических событий. Затем своими воспоминаниями поделились живущие ныне в Израиле ленинградские блокадники и представители поколения их детей.

Художественную часть вечера составило выступление хорового коллектива «Менора» (г. Петах-Тиква). В ходе концерта прозвучали известные всем музыкальные произведения военных лет, песни о Ленинграде и классические оперные арии.
