150th Anniversary - Russian Statesman Pytor Stolypin
Exhibition at the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv

In April 2012 Russia will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Russian politician and statesman Pyotr Stolypin. In this regard, a documentary art exhibition under the motto "The liberal reforms and strong government" - a principle that PA Stolypin laid the basis for their public activities,was launched ath the RCC.

The exhibition presents the current research, the life and work of Russian reformers, in particular, the popular documentary-historical novel "Stolypin" by well-known writer and public figure, SJ Rybas.

From the memoirs of biographical materials visitors will learn that the ancestors of the Stolypin faithfully served the Russian military and civilian careers - defending Moscow in the early XVII century, participated in the campaigns of Peter the Great and Suvorov, fought with the troops of Napoleon, had defended Sevastopol during the Crimean War, participated to develop new lands in Siberia.

Through the genealogical documentation presented at the exhibition, Pytor Stolypin demonstrates his kinship with Mikhail Lermontov, Leo Tolstoy, and in a modern branch - the poet Sergei Mikhalkov. The exhibit also includes research on Russian history at the beginning of the twentieth century, written by N. Berdyaev, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Eduard Radzinsky, and other famous Russian philosophers, historians and writers, as well as modern textbooks on Russian history.

Of particular interest to residents - immigrants from the Soviet Union and CIS are the little-known facts of the life and the reform efforts of Stolypin, in particular, evidence that he was the initiator and active supporter of the project "On the revision of regulations restricting the rights of Jews," presented in 1906, for discussion in the Duma. These efforts are reflected in some of the exhibited documents.

The decoration consists of the exhibition gallery of PA Stolypin portraits, from the brushes of Repin and Glazunov, and photographs relating to his life and work.
In the media section the visitors are invited to the library news-documentary about Pytor Stolypin.

В апреле 2012 года Россия будет отмечать 150-летие со дня рождения выдающегося русского политика и государственного деятеля Петра Столыпина. В этой связи в библиотеке Российского культурного центра в Тель-Авиве развёрнута документально-художественная экспозиция под девизом «Либеральные реформы и сильная власть» – принцип, который П.А. Столыпин положил в основу своей государственной деятельности.

     На выставке представлены современные исследования жизни и деятельности российского реформатора, в частности, популярный документально-исторический роман «Столыпин» известного писателя и общественного деятеля  С.Ю. Рыбаса.

     Из  мемуарно-биографических материалов экспозиции посетители узнают о том, что предки Столыпина преданно служили России на военном и гражданском поприще – защищали Москву в начале XVII века, участвовали в походах Петра Великого и Суворова, сражались с войсками Наполеона, обороняли Севастополь во время Крымской войны, осваивали новые земли Сибири. Представленное на выставке генеалогическое древо Петра Столыпина свидетельствует о его родственных связях с Михаилом Лермонтовым, Львом Толстым, а в современной ветви – с поэтом Сергеем Михалковым.

     Экспозиция также включает исследования по российской истории начала ХХ века, принадлежащие перу Н. Бердяева, А. Солженицына, Э. Радзинского и других известных российских философов, историков и писателей, а также современные учебники по истории России. 

     Особый интерес у израильтян – выходцев из СССР и СНГ вызывают представленные в материалах выставки малоизвестные факты из жизни и реформаторской деятельности Столыпина, в частности, свидетельства того, что именно он был инициатором и активным сторонником проекта «О пересмотре постановлений, ограничивающих права евреев», представленного в 1906 г. на обсуждение в Государственной Думе.

     Художественное оформление выставки составляет галерея портретов П.А. Столыпина кисти Репина и Глазунова, фотоматериалы, связанные с его жизнью и деятельностью. В мультимедийном разделе вниманию посетителей библиотеки предлагается хроникально-документальный фильм о П.А. Столыпине.
