Meeting of heads of Russian "zemlyachestva" org
in Russian Cultural Center

9 October, Meeting at the Russian cultural center in Tel Aviv of the Coordination Council of Russian-Israeli association zemlyachestva (Worth) - the largest in Israel, the organization uniting the many unions and associations of immigrants from the former Soviet Union and CIS countries. For several years, Worth has been president of a well-known public figure, member of the Presidium of the Board of the International Council of Russian Compatriots Michael Reif, a member of the municipality of Rishon Lezion.
The Council meeting, in particular, was attended by the president of Israel Fund, economic, scientific-technical and cultural support to fellow Russian Yuri Voldman, chairman of the Union of Chernobyl liquidators Israel Kalantirsky Alexander, chairman of the Association of the Leningrad blockade Israel Sonia Bahrul, chairman of the Society of Graduates of Soviet and Russian universities  Dr. Alexander Zinker, chairman of the Society of Friendship "Moscow - Tel Aviv" Ilana Michaeli, representatives of regional and municipal offices "Worth" and several other public organizations of Russian-speaking Israelis.

The assembled leaders welcomed the director of the RCC, AA Kryukov, noting in particular the significant increase in the recent activities of the organizations originating from the USSR - CIS in a number of areas - organizational, cultural, education and information.
The main theme of the meeting was to prepare for the next Israeli National Conference leaders and activists of Russian organizations, which will be held Oct. 15 in the town of Rishon Lezion.

In addition to solving the operational issues at the organizational meeting , also some aspects of "Worth" and the coordination of  the work of organizations of Russian-speaking Israelis in Israel was considered.

The priority areas include: assistance in solving social problems of veterans of the Second World War, the blockade of Leningrad, the liquidators of Chernobyl; implementation of a number of socio-political and cultural projects, which include, for example, exchange of delegations of Israeli and Russian sister-city cooperation with the Moscow House of Compatriots ; publication of books for children in Russian; organization of concerts and competitions.

In conclusion, the meeting participants expressed their gratitude to the Mission of the FA Rossotrudnichestvo in Israel for the organizational and information support activities of "Worth", and also noted the conclusion of Sukkot and Simhat Torah initiatives.
